RISC Co-Hosts Forest Conference
19 January 2024 CORPORATE WELL-BEING
15-19 January 2024, Bangkok – Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC) by MQDC, the property developer within DTGO, helped hold the first conference in Thailand by the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO).
RISC is a research unit that helps MQDC create sustainable buildings that boost well-being.
The center has played a key role in developing The Forestias, a forest district across 158 acres at Bangna.
RISC gave a tour of The Forestias at IUFRO’s “Role and Fate of Forest Ecosystems in a Changing World”.
The researchers explained how The Forestias enhances the well-being of its residents through flourishing natural ecosystems across 56% of the new green neighborhood.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto, Chief Sustainnovation Officer of RISC, also presented MQDC’s environmental aims.
“MQDC has set a very challenging goal: Nature Positive, Carbon Negative,” he said.
“This objective is to look after ecosystems and restore the natural environment while promoting ways of life that don’t release carbon dioxide or pollution.”
IUFRO is a 131-year-old international network with more than 630 member organizations worldwide.
More than 80 experts from 25 countries attended the conference.
