Buddharaksa Foundation Helps Bangkok Communities in COVID-19 Crisis

22 April 2020, Bangkok – Buddharaksa Foundation, a DTGO-linked non-profit, with Ms. Warunya Punawakul, Group Chief Strategy Officer of DTGO, Vie Halong restaurant, and N Soya Co., Ltd. gave food to support the “Giving Food, Encourage Street Hero” project at district offices and communities.

Under DTGO policy to protect communities and officials from COVID-19, the initiative gave 300 food boxes plus 20kg of mangoes, 5 bunches of bananas, and 210 cartons of soybean milk to officials such as garbage collectors, road sweepers, and gardeners, who risk their health in their duties.

The partners assisted the following communities:

1. Vadhana District Office with 80 sets of food and beverages.

2. Suanluang District Office with 70 sets of food and beverages.

3. Rim Bung Makkasan and Rattaphan communities with 150 sets of food and beverages through Ratchathewi District Office.

Buddharaksa Foundation thanks The Givers Network, another DTGO-associated charity, for providing great support for the program by helping connect with restaurants.

The foundation, and all those involved in the project, aim to assist people affected by the crisis and reduce their household expenses so we can overcome this outbreak together.

Under its founding commitment to combine commercial success with societal contribution, DTGO dedicates 2% of its topline revenue to social and environmental initiatives.

These projects are directed by specialist non-profits such as the Buddharaksa Foundation to achieve the greatest impact.
