16 September 2019, Chon Buri – Buddharaksa Foundation and The Aspen Tree brought 3 expert speakers to a national retirement ceremony for about 800 Border Patrol Police staff at the Ambassador Hotel in Jomtien.
The Aspen Tree picked 3 presenters to share tips on how to enjoy life as older adult, applying its knowledge from developing The Aspen Tree at The Forestias.
“The Aspen Tree is proud to be sharing the knowledge we have gathered in developing The Aspen Tree at The Forestias in Bangna, Thailand’s first luxury community developed under the concept of ‘aging-in-place’,” said Ms. Hye-June Park, President of The Aspen Tree.
Assistant Professor Surat Tanprawate, Director of the Geriatric Medical Center at Chiang Mai University (CMU) and CEO of ChivaCare Medical and Rehabilitation Center, spoke on physical health in retirement.
Mr. Taweesook Thammasak, an investment consultant at DTGO Corporation Limited, presented on financial well-being. Mr. Jatupol Chompoonich (Ajarn Shane), a celebrity speaker, gave a talk on mental health.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Wichit Paksa, Commander of the Border Patrol Police, presided over the event.
“Thailand is now among the world’s most rapidly aging countries, with a quarter of Thais likely to be 65 or over by 2040,” said Ms. Park.
“Older adults like these Border Patrol Police agents can live more independently than retirees in the past. The Aspen Tree is eager to help everyone enjoy ‘the most beautiful chapter in life’ through embracing active, healthy lifestyle and engaging with the wider community.”
The Aspen Tree was set up by MQDC to provide ‘aging in place’. Older adults will receive every type of support, in services and lifestyle as well as healthcare, to continue enjoying health and happiness in the homes and communities they love even if their needs change.
The event was sponsored by The Buddharaksa Foundation, a non-profit supported by DTGO, the parent of MQDC. The foundation works with the border police in enhancing education in border areas.
